Description"The Department of Mathematics and Statistics currently has about 30 regular faculty members, and 10 emeritus professors. There are also 5 faculty members cross-appointed from other departments and 10 adjunct professors. As well, our graduate program includes approximately 50 students....The Department has a large number of research seminars, which play an important role in our research and graduate programs. These seminars often have outside speakers, but more frequently consist of a series of lectures by faculty members, graduate students, or visitors. In addition to the research seminars, we have two colloquium series. The Departmental Colloquium convenes on Friday afternoons with talks usually given by visiting mathematicians. Our web-based announcements of upcoming colloquia and seminars are updated daily."
