|Description||"The Department of Mathematics is comprised of approximately 17 full-time faculty members and several part-time faculty (adjuncts) who strive to achieve a two-fold mission:
1. provide general mathematics service courses, and
2. provide a robust and sound curriculum for mathematics majors.
To achieve the first, the Department offers a variety of 1000 and 2000 level courses such as College Algebra, Trigonometric Functions, Liberal Arts Mathematics I, Liberal Arts Mathematics II, and Pre-Calculus, to name a few. These courses lay the foundation for the student who will become an independent thinker and a productive citizen in our community aware of his/her responsibilities to promote growth and contribute to advances in our society. There are several sequences that can be used to satisfy the six credit hours requirement for compliance with the State Board of Education Rule 6A-10.30(2) also known as the Gordon Rule and students must speak with advisors from their respective major departments to determine these."
