MathGuide is a subject gateway to online information sources on Mathematics.
The main goal is to index and catalog "high quality" internet resources in a searchable database. We are looking for online resources in the internet and select those which are of interest in the respective areas for undergraduates through faculty. Each resource is described with a set of metadata based on the Dublin Core Metadata Element Set in order to make records browsable in the Subject Catalog or the Source Type Catalog as well as searchable with local Search Options.
New resources are continuously added to the database, already cataloged ones double-checked and updated. We use the link check program Xenu to update the external links. With that we are able to offer an up-to-date survey of relevant information sources in Mathematics.
MathGuide was developed at the Lower Saxony State- and University Library, Göttingen (SUB, Germany), a participating library under the system of literature supply supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). MathGuide is part of the SSG-FI project financed by the DFG since 1996. It is conceived as a special service of the SUB for the special subject collection Pure Mathematics.
